Studio

A company for the games we couldn’t not make.

A solitary figure standing at a cliff edge overlooking a vast wild valley at dusk.

Why we formed The Primal Side LLC

The games came first. The company followed so we could develop them properly, publish them under one name, and own the relationship with the people who play them.

We are a development studio and a publisher. Original work from our own floor — starting with Oathforge Idle — and a door that’s open to other makers. Outside projects are vetted for quality and clean rights. AI-assisted development is welcome if the game is good.

We are not a content mill, a live-service factory, or a holding company. We are small on purpose.

Instinct

We trust the first true hit of an idea more than a spreadsheet of comparable titles. Taste is a tool.

Craft

Feel before feature list. If it doesn’t play in the hands, it doesn’t leave the studio — ours or a partner’s.

Partnership

We will publish other people’s games. We will not rubber-stamp them. Quality and clean rights first — then we talk terms.

Clay models, maps, and charcoal sketches on a dim studio workbench.

How we work

Analog first. Digital when it earns it.

Worlds start on paper and in clay. Code comes when the creature already has a gait. That discipline is what we look for in the teams we publish, too — evidence that someone has been living with the thing, not just pitching it.
